About This Licence

Cookatoo Recruitment holds an Employment Agent Licence issued by the Department of Energy, Mines, Industry Regulation and Safety (DEMIRS) under the Employment Agents Act 1976 (Western Australia).

This licence authorises Cookatoo Recruitment to operate as an employment agent in Western Australia, connecting employers with candidates for permanent employment placements.

Your Rights as a Job Seeker

Under the Employment Agents Act 1976, employment agents in Western Australia are subject to conduct requirements designed to protect both job seekers and employers. Key protections include:

• Employment agents must not charge job seekers a fee for placement services
• Agents must act honestly and in good faith in dealings with all parties
• Agents must not misrepresent the nature of a role or the terms of employment
• Agents must maintain the confidentiality of candidate information
• Agents must not present a candidate to an employer without their prior knowledge and consent

Cookatoo Recruitment operates in full compliance with these requirements. Our service to candidates is and always will be free of charge. We are paid by the employer only when a permanent placement is successfully made.

Your Rights as an Employer

Employers engaging Cookatoo Recruitment as an employment agent are entitled to transparency regarding fees, process and candidate information. Our standard terms are agreed in writing before any recruitment activity begins, and our fee structure is strictly success-based — no placement, no payment.

We do not charge retainers, subscription fees or upfront costs of any kind. All fees are disclosed in full at the outset of each engagement.

Complaints and Licence Verification

If you have a concern about the conduct of Cookatoo Recruitment, you may contact the Department of Energy, Mines, Industry Regulation and Safety (DEMIRS) at demirs.wa.gov.au, which administers the Employment Agents Act 1976 and maintains the register of licensed employment agents in Western Australia.

Licence EA3345 can be verified through the DEMIRS employment agent licence register.
